Also, did you know that most people really DON’T change that much after high school? Sure they get fatter and balder (girls, too) but no ‘attitude adjustments’ or personalty transplants are performed no matter how sorely they appear to be needed. This we also know and cannot apologize for.

Second to lastly, did you know that there has been no outpouring of support (comparatively speaking) from Hollywood types during or after the ‘Midwest Katrina’. Come on, Tinsel Town!!!! Where’s the celebrity-packed, primetime telethon?!?!?! Where are people like Faith Hill and Aaron Neville to sing for Iowans?!?!! Where’s Jim Carrey and Chris Tucker?!?!?! Mike Meyers and Kanye West now?!?!?! Why can’t we get Kanye to say something like, “President Bush doesn’t care about corn people!” Now THAT would bring in the support! No such thing as bad publicity, right? This we are also aware of but cannot apologize for.

And legitimately lastly, Spatterdash is in the middle of a ’skinny’ summer. Lots of stuff to plan for, plan with, and plan around. We still have gigs upcoming/in the works/on deck so be sure to check out our MySpace Page and stay tuned in as to all that is current w/us. This was are in full awareness of and apologize to those of you asking why we aren’t out there a little more. Life just gets in the way sometimes.

How ya’ll doin’?  We have had some great times recently at

some newer clubs.  Had a great gig in Bettendorf @ Uptown

Neighborhood Bar & Grill.  Great stage, great crowd, great

bar staff, and just a great night all around.  We were up

north last weekend in Cedar Rapids at a new place

called Volume!   What a blast!!!  People were piling into

that place after the Hawkeye loss (uhg!) and still ready

to party their hinies off!  Had a great time there and

hope to be back up soon.  Definitely worth the road trip

if you get the itch.  That would be the itch that DOESN’T

require an antibiotic. 

So now we’re knee deep into the ‘Mean Season’.  Oh don’t

get me wrong.  This time of the year is wonderful for

getting together with family and friends in the spirit of the

season.  I am completely down with that.  Family and

friends are the cornerstones of our lives.  Without them,

our lives would be drastically different.  Some good, some

not-so-much.  I don’t think I need to mention any names

here. 

However, from Halloween until sometime after Valentine’s

Day is what I’m referring to as the ‘Mean Season’.  Mean to

your wallets, mean to YOUR time/personal schedules, and

most importantly mean to your waste lines.  I mean, my

God, could you have one more plate of cookies shoved in

front of your pie hole?!?!?!…and be expected to turn ‘em

down???  "How ’bout another helping of turkey, dear?"

…sure, one more helping and I’m going to crap feathers!

Pie, cake, beer, mashed potatoes, chips, dip, beer,

casseroles, cheese, nuts, beer, candy, anything

deep fried, and.did I mention beer?!?!?  How else-really-

do people expect us to cope with a 34" inseam and a

48" inch belt?!?! 

Anyway, all joshing aside, we hope the upcoming holidays

find all of you able to enjoy all that this time of year brings -

sharing good times with family and friends…all in the

comfort of elastic waste pants. 

Also, find some time to spend taking in a Spatterdash

show or two…we may even let you rub our bellies!

Just a quick note to let you know that despite these

temps lately (90 plus in the middle of October?!?!!

…HOLY HADES!), it IS Fall/Autumn.  Criminey!  Good

thing my sweating is hidden by those dark, wet,

crescent-shaped marks under my arms. 

Make sure and get the most out of this time of year

and get out to a gig or two.  We miss ‘ya!  Go ahead,

you can say it…you miss us, too.  We fit right in there

between baseball playoffs, tailgating, and dealing

with that little nuisance known as a hangover after

the aforementioned tailgater.

will be accepted at this point.  Plenty of opportunity to

get out there and let us know YOU still know how to

ROCK….we do.  ;-)  Heck, we’re all over the ‘Panther

So, what’s a rock band to do when it gets hungry???

Oh sure you can say you’re ready for some of that

hard rockin’ that only Spatterdash can bring but are

you really, truly, again ready for such things as:

Matt Hauser’s sultry bass lines, harmonically delicious

vocals, and constant stink eye from front portion of the

stage!

Sean Dorton’s thunderous and artful rhythmic skills,

unscripted appearances as lead singer, and apparent

trouble keeping his zipper in a ’family friendly’ position

at all times!

Leo Kelly’s skillful mastery of the guitar, sassy repartee`

he has with nearly everyone along the eastern Iowa

‘seaboard’, and constant references to Rachel Ray

& buttering THAT biscuit!

Chris Sindt’s powerful vocal delivery, soulful ownership

of performed selections, and that smell…EEWWWW!

So come on, put on your dancin’, drinkin’, rockin’

shoes and join us for what’s sure to be an ‘Autumn of

Annulations’ where we lay waste to suckas, posers, and

our share of chronic!!!!  Okay, tough talk for, "please join

us for some good hard rockin’ music and, more than

likely, our share of adult beverages.
